Alan Hocking
Alan Hocking is a Consultant with Triad Consulting Group. In addition to his role at Triad, he also practices independently in the U.K. and internationally as an executive coach and organizational-development partner.
Alan spent his early career as an Operations Researcher with Shell International Petroleum, supporting executive-team decision-making across the group’s operating companies. He was then hired into Arthur Andersen’s People and Change practice (London and Houston), supporting leaders and their teams through significant change programs. He honed his craft in leadership development and team coaching as Head of Learning and Development at PwC’s U.K. Consulting division before branching out independently.
Having supported clients through periods of ‘stuckness’ and growth, Alan believes that healthy performance in today’s interconnected world demands new capacity for most of us. For many, that’s “leading through diverse relationships”. Whether working with individual leaders or arrays of teams, the impact of Alan’s work is achieving performance and change with more ease and grace for all involved. He works across a range of sectors from Health Care to Technology with clients that include the U.K.’s Ministry of Defence, PwC, BCG, Clifford Chance, Salesforce, and Nutreco.
Alan has a Bachelor of Science with Honors from Aston University (U.K.), and a Master of Science in Change Agent Skills and Strategies from the University of Surrey (U.K.). He also has a Certificate in Executive Coaching from ICF and is certified as a Senior Practitioner in Team Coaching by the EMCC.
Alan recently traded 30 years in London to live by the sea in his native Cornwall where he’s developing his skills as a studio potter.
